A useful place to start

Read a Bible passage, then talk through the question

Grace, AutoMessage assistant

Grace is AutoMessage’s Bible assistant. She helps you explore a passage and reflect on a question through text messages. Ask for a reference and context before drawing a lesson from an isolated verse.

Begin with a passage or a situation

You can name a passage you are reading or describe a theme such as patience, gratitude, or forgiveness. Ask Grace to identify the passage and explain what happens around it. ‘What comes before and after this verse?’ is a useful question when a quotation feels familiar but its setting does not.

Check quoted wording against the translation you use. Grace’s local Scripture reference uses the King James Version for selected passages. An explanation or paraphrase should remain separate from the biblical text.

Turn reflection into a question you can consider

Ask for one reflection question rather than a complete sermon. For a passage about listening, you might consider a conversation where you interrupted someone. Your answer can lead to a more specific follow-up about how to respond differently.

A suggested application is an interpretation. It is not a command from Scripture simply because an AI assistant wrote it. Bring difficult theological questions to a trusted pastor, teacher, or community.

Use a reading plan when you want a sequence

A Bible app is useful when you want to choose a translation, follow a reading plan, or keep track of passages. Grace is useful for the question that appears while you read. You can keep your reading plan and continue the reflection in a message thread.

Ask when you want a passage; do not assume Grace will send a new verse every morning. AutoMessage’s occasional check-ins are not a daily devotional subscription.

How do I reflect on a verse without losing its context?

Open the passage in your Bible and text Grace: “I am reading James 1:19. Help me understand the surrounding passage, then ask one question about how I listen in conversations.” Keep your chosen translation nearby so you can check any quoted wording.

Answer the reflection question with one ordinary situation from your day. Ask Grace to distinguish what the passage says from the application she suggests. Leave the exchange with a question to consider or discuss with your community, rather than treating an AI interpretation as a religious instruction.

Messages to try

Use a message as a starting point. Change the details to fit your situation.

Help me reflect on James 1:19. Give me the reference, explain the surrounding passage, and ask one question.
Which part is a quotation, and which part is your interpretation?
I want to think about gratitude today. Suggest a passage I can check in my Bible.

Common questions

Does Grace replace a pastor or Bible study group?

No. Grace supports reading and reflection. She is an AI assistant, not a religious authority.

Can I ask Grace about a specific verse?

Yes. Send the reference and the question you want to explore. Check quotations in your chosen translation.

Does Grace send a verse every morning?

AutoMessage does not promise a daily devotional schedule. You can request a passage when you text Grace.
